The Fun Theory

This is one theory I can TOTALLY subscribe to!  I'm going to try and add some FUN this week...at home, at work, wherever!! I challenge you to do the same!  What can you do to make more fun for your family, friends, co-workers or others you come in contact with?  Love to hear some comments - after all... they're  FUN!  :)

How NOT to wear a cowboy hat...

So...Gracie was assisting me on a shoot. She was already carrying a bag, an extra camera and a reflector and then I kind of handed her a cowboy hat from behind as I was trying to take a shot.  When I turned around this is what I saw!  LOL! She wore it like this till we got back to the car - what a clown! :)

Which way is Up???

LOL!  I just came across this pic while editing an e-session.  We were at Brook's house for some of the pics and he decided to "show" us his new kitties.  I have just made some major changes in my life outside photography (good stuff just DIFFERENT) and I feel a bit like this little guy right now! :)  Hope I can be as flexible! 

Leavin' on a Jet Plane...

Gracie and I are going on a much-anticipated, whirlwind trip to New York City.  We'll be back early next week, and I'll do my best to get caught up.  She's been looking forward to this for a year and I need to spend some time with her - while she still wants too.  Hope everyone has a great week!!  Will post pics when we get back!   

Have a Rockin' 4th!!!

I hope everyone has a Fun & Save 4th of July!  If you're out after the fireworks in McMinnville tomorrow - there will be a great show at Capalano's downtown.  Bangkok Rust will start rocking at 9:45 with a special guest appearance (nope- not gonna tell you you'll have to go to find out).  Then Hosta Band  will keep rocking after that - So come on down and finish your fourth with some Great Music!  

Paula's Dance Academy Recital - Update

When Paula called to ask if I would shoot this years dance recital - I was excited & flattered.  I thought it would be fun and different from my normal shooting style -  and I have to admit - I LOVE ballet!  I LOVE little ballerinas! OH MY - all the little dancers were SO Cute!!  I mean really! 

If you know me you know I don't like to do anything too "traditional" and I thought with the costumes a "HI-KEY" background would be just the ticket.  "All dancer - no distractions" -  The night of dress rehearsal was great- busy, hectic, crazy - but great.  I know some of the "littles" probably got bored waiting in line - but NONE of them were fussy once they got to me - So THANK YOU!!!    

I've had a little difficulty with the "post-processing" end of things - much slower than I anticipated - because Hi-Key leaves no room for error - or dirt - or tape - or a million other things.  I had my assistant working on the pictures for two weeks - but i still had to do the final tweaking myself.  Then we had an issue with the lab and the crop on the 8x10s from my test batch - It's worked out now!  So my turn-around time has been slower than I hoped.  Now that all of the post-capture work is done (Packages should be in next week)  I wanted to post a couple "extra" shots I squeezed in.  I wish I had time to do lots more - but if you've ever been to one of Paula's dress rehearsals you'll understand.  : )

This little one reminds me of cotton candy...(O.K.  so maybe it's been too long since I've had cotton candy - but she is a cutie!)

RELAY is HERE!!!!!!!!!

It's Here!  It's tonight!!!  The weather is going to be perfect!  Can you tell I'm excited?!  I know I tend to overuse the exclamation point - but not this time.  Music, Games, Good Food, Friends (oh yes my daughter would want me to mention FACE PAINTING)...what more can you ask for on a Friday Night?

If you have never made your way down to Nunley Stadium for Relay for Life, then do it tonight!  There is so much there for good, family, fun.  None of it is overpriced - and  the money goes to help fight CANCER. Who in this small town has not been touched by this disease?  But it is amazing how far they have come with cancer treatment and that is in no small part due to events just like this one.  So Come Have Fun!!! You'll be so glad you did!

Chit Chat...

Wow!  The 2009 Wedding season has officially begun! We've done three weddings so far in 2009, and have 4 more just in the next MONTH!  Needless to say, I'm staying very busy!  I'm working on album design, editing, shooting, bookkeeping, PR, and SO much more.  Fortunately, this summer I'll have an intern at least temporarily - so for those of you waiting on me - please hang in there - hopefully I'll catch up!! : )

I do have some work I just can NOT wait to share!   I shot two bridal sessions recently where we had SO much  fun.  I can't wait for their weddings just so I can post the bridals!  In the meantime, I've got some weddings, families and LOTS of babies coming your way!  So check back soon!
