Trapper Haskins an Extremely talented songwriter will be releasing his music to the world on Saturday. The best part is - the release is happening right here in McMinnville at the Magness Cafe around 8:00. The CD is titled ALLUVIUM and I had a blast shooting the cover of one of my FAVORITE old houses! If you can identify the house - I can guarantee you an autograph!
Seriously - this is some great music and should be a fun time. Hope to see everyone there!
A benefit concert for the McMinnville Jaycee's Christmas program for children. I think you'll enjoy the music - which is all ages from 6:30 - 8:00 (no smoking).
Bangkok Rust is playing Capalanos Coffee Emporium - Downtown McMinnville Friday night. The show starts at 7:00 and is ALL AGES - so the upstairs will be open to folks under 21 till 8:00. The Band wanted to do some new publicity shots recently and my super-creative husband had some awesome concepts. He also had time. (I was on another session this day) So he took the shots below - I think he may have found his calling! :) So any of you bands out there - give us a call - Let's get Creative! : )
It's impossible to explain how much my entire family loves this girl. The mere mention of the word "Julie" is enough to send my daughter into orbit. I did a mini-session late one afternoon awhile back and just loved some of these...her inner beauty comes through...at least to my eyes. :)
O.K. The shot above?...total inspiration 0r dumb luck..."lets try this against the old pool wall". Now how many folks can even ask that question? But thanks to my wonderful husband's foresight (aka: inability to throw ANYTHING away) this worked as a perfect backdrop in this situation.
My multi-talented husband will be playing with his band the "Transitor Troubadours" tomorrow night at the New York Grill in McMinnville. They should start around 9:00 and it will be a very eclectic set - something for everyone! A great way to start your 4th of July Weekend! Hope everyone can come!

When you take a publicity shot, you want the picture to speak the proverbial thousand words. You hope for one shot that will motivate someone to listen to the disc or make that call for the audition. Whew! What responsibility. I love it though! I wish the people I shoot could see what I see when I look through the viewfinder. I love trying to capture as much as I can with my camera. However, I think I could take a thousand pictures of Jacke LeDuc and still not show ALL that she is. She's that awesome. But I hope I give you a glimpse - enough to be interested. Remember...Life is Art...I'm just along for the ride.
Stefanie Jewell can sing! She sings like I used to dream I'd sing one day when I was a little girl. If you've ever been lucky enough to hear her (usually in church) then you know what I'm talking about. She has some folks interested in her music in Nashville, and needed some publicity shots to go along with what I think (she's cringing if she's reading this) is an awesome demo disc. In case you've been wondering why I haven't been posting as often; I've been a bit busy lately in other parts of my life. But my photography world is suddenly VERY busy and I am working like a mad woman to stay caught up. Of course SOME folks think I really am crazy so maybe I always work like a mad woman - even when I do it slowly. Hmmm..think about that. Here's what's currently on my editing desk from a publicity shoot with Scott and Jackie LeDuc for an upcoming CD and radio single release. I have to ask you... Will she or won't she? Will Winnie choose to drink the water that will give her eternal youth? If you don't know, or even if you do, go see Tuck Everlasting at the Arts Center of Cannon County. The pictures below are some favorites from a publicity shoot for the show. They feature Shelby, who plays Winnie in one of the casts. The story is fascinating, thought provoking, and thouroughly entertaining. This show is geared more for the middle school age audience as opposed to "littles", but has something for almost any age. Most performances are for schools only, but there are two public performances on May 9th and 10th. Call the Arts Center at 1.800.235.9073 for ticket information.
If you follow my blog you know my talented husband is also performing at Capalano's on May 10th. Lucky for you, the play is at 2:30. Tim (the aformentioned talented husband) will play late that evening and Griff ( the not aforementioned talented son) will be playing around 7:00, so there will be no problem going to both shows. :)
