Yes, Ma'am she is! That's exactly what she wanted to do when she contacted me about this session. Nallely e-mailed me a couple of weeks ago and requested a "Trash the Dress" session. I had heard of the concept, but after visiting www.trashthedress.com I was "all in". So, this past weekend we headed back to Manchester and Rutledge Falls to do a very different kind of photo session. So many beautiful wedding dresses hang in closets, cherished momento's of that special day, never to be worn again. The idea behind "Trash the Dress" is to create a different kind of momento. To turn that dress into art and caputure the beauty of the bride or the couple in a whole new way.
My new friend's name is Nallely (pronounced Na-jelly) and it mean's "I love you" in an almost-forgotten Spanish dialect. She and her husband John (can you say "trooper") climbed rocks, dipped down in freezing cold water and laid down in the waterfalls all for the sake of art.
We had the falls to ourselves for a while, but I knew we were in for some strange looks as other folks began trekking down. NO ONE said anything directly to us, which I find amazing, because I would have been too nosy not to ask. But we did overhear one woman lean over to her husband and say... "She's gonna ruin that dress!" and ruin it we did! Here are a few of my favorites...
